Welcome to the SCAR website. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Seminole County Area Rowing ("SCAR") website. By accessing or using this website, you agree to comply with these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use this website.​

SCAR is a nonprofit youth rowing organization serving middle and high school students in Seminole County, Florida. 

1. Website Use

This website is intended to provide information about SCAR's programs, events, camps, sponsorship opportunities, fundraising activities, and related services.

  • Provide accurate information when submitting forms.

  • Refrain from attempting to disrupt or damage the website.

SCAR reserves the right to restrict or terminate access to users who violate these terms.

2. Registration & Program Participation

Participation in SCAR programs, camps, practices, regattas, and events may require separate registration forms, waivers, medical information, and parental consent.

Submission of a website inquiry or registration form does not guarantee acceptance into any program. Participation remains subject to eligibility requirements, available space, safety considerations, and payment of applicable fees.

3. Payments & Refunds

Program fees, camp fees, donations, merchandise purchases, and sponsorship contributions are subject to the terms presented at the time of registration or purchase.

Unless otherwise stated:​

  • Donations are non-refundable.

  • Sponsorship contributions are non-refundable.

  • Camp and program refund policies will be outlined during registration.

  • SCAR reserves the right to cancel programs or events due to weather, safety concerns, insufficient enrollment, or circumstances beyond its control.

4. Assumption of Risk

Rowing and related athletic activities involve inherent risks, including the possibility of injury, illness, property damage, or other unforeseen events. Participants and parents/guardians acknowledge these risks through separate waivers and participation agreements as required by SCAR and governing organizations. Rowing organizations commonly require acknowledgment of these risks and compliance with safety standards. 

5. Youth Protection & SafeSport

SCAR is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and positive environment for all athletes.

All coaches, volunteers, board members, and participants are expected to follow applicable SafeSport requirements, codes of conduct, and youth protection policies where applicable. USRowing requires compliance with SafeSport standards for covered participants. 

6. Intellectual Property

All website content, including but not limited to:

  • Logos

  • Graphics

  • Photographs

  • Videos

  • Blog articles

  • Documents

  • Text

  • Designs

are the property of SCAR or used with permission and may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, or modified without prior written consent.

7. Photographs & Media

SCAR may use photographs, videos, or other media from practices, camps, regattas, and events for promotional, educational, fundraising, and marketing purposes.

Parents or guardians who wish to request that a participant's image not be used should contact SCAR in writing.

8. Third-Party Links

This website may contain links to third-party websites, including registration platforms, sponsors, social media sites, and rowing organizations.

SCAR is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, availability, or accuracy of third-party websites.
